There was a comment on Pronman's 2025 draft rankings article from a Habs fan bemoaning how Laine's injury made him have to worry about the draft again, but uh how good did you think they were going to be?

Neely bringing the Swayman negotiation into the media with the 64 million number (which Swayman's agent denies being an offer) definitely riled up the "These athletes should just be happy with what they have" crowd

I am close with a die hard Habs fan and even though he's a generally smart guy, he was convinced the Habs were playoff bound and boasted one of the best forward groups in the league. Lunacy. Anyway he was real depressed on Saturday night when we were hanging out.

I think MSL is a good coach and they have some promising pieces, but they’re the worst team in the Atlantic. The biggest issue with Habs fans is that they only entertain the best possible outcome for their players. Slafkovsky will be dominant. Lane Hudson will be Quinn Hughes. Kirby Dach will stay healthy. Montembault is a legit #1. And so on. I feel bad that Laine and Reinbacher had big injuries, but shit goes wrong for every team.

my niece texted me to say that the SNES were bad last year because of the goalies and now they've fixed that issue and my heart just swelled from the innocence

Broons signed Swayman to an eight year deal at 8.25
So much for Neely whining about 64 million

preseason games should be played in private and they should definitely not be listed on like nhl.com scores/schedule pages. when does the damn season start, there are preseason games booked through next week

I thought the season started last night because there was a leafs/habs game listed as taking place among many other games on the NHL website and it was Saturday night and they have already played like 6 preseason games already, how could it not be the first game of the real season for both teams?

Pierre Engvall got waived, only six years left (at 3 per) on his deal
He'd probably be an upgrade for the Sharks but that's such a dumb contract.

Also Brannstrom got waived by the Canucks, which was surprising because I didn't know he was there
Someone in the Athletic comments was all "He's really talented, just needs a shot" and man he's not that talented. Undersized offensive D have to be really good to press for a spot.

Oh
The Vancouver Canucks traded Tucker Poolman and a fourth-round pick in 2025 to the Colorado Avalanche for Erik Brannstrom on Sunday. Brannstrom was subsequently placed on waivers by Vancouver with the purpose of reassignment to Abbotsford, the club’s AHL affiliate.
Hope Brannstrom enjoyed his time in Vancouver
