Makes sense for both teams
PNES fans on The Athletic think they got a huge steal but I don’t think McGroarty is as flawless as they do

Askarov, a 3rd, and a human body for David Edstrom, a 2025 first-round pick and goalie Magnus Chrona
So two later firsts, basically. Still a good haul. Sharks didn't have a goalie of the future so it makes sense for them.the first-round pick acquired by Nashville was originally from Vegas. If the first-rounder from Vegas lands in the top 10, San Jose can elect to keep that pick and swap it for their own first-round selection in 2025.
Re: 2023-2024 Offseason Thread: All the GMs agreed to reasonable contracts this year
Nashville signed all these old guys to huge contracts but also have multiple first round picks a year for the next 3 years
Re: 2023-2024 Offseason Thread: All the GMs agreed to reasonable contracts this year
Cool move for SJ too in that this is basically Hertl for Askarov right? At least I saw someone on HF say that? Still a kind of crazy return for an unproven goalie.

Many such moves this off-season I think. Should be a sick mf season
Re: 2023-2024 Offseason Thread: All the GMs agreed to reasonable contracts this year
I think it rules that the best playoffs of all time will be followed by th best season+playoffs of all time before everyone agrees that the climate is too damn hot to be having professional hockey leagues anymore

Pronman likes Yager’s upside a bit more but basically they are both middle-six guys. Not a bad return at all for a trade Chevy was forced to make; that Yager is from Saskatchewan made it all the better, I’m sure (or was the reason they zeroed in on him).Grand Moff Larkin wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 6:52 pm Makes sense for both teams

As I read through Pronman's comments on Habs prospects, I thought "Their fan base is going to view all of this as a personal attack," and boy the comments did not let me down.

A Blue Jackets fan was even angrier, claiming it was in keeping with the bias against the franchise and came close to saying "FIGHT ME"
