Benoit blocked a Tarasenko chance with his balls

Probably would’ve gone in

Holl was dropped the puck as the late man and flubbed it

At the other end, Domi got one on a platter from Petry and went over the net

Gustafsson is definitely my least favorite Wing this year. Gostisbehere drove me nuts defensively and made errors offensively but he also made good plays at times. Gustafsson is like Gostisbehere without the good plays.

Marner gets the natural hat trick on a tip in front

The same game parlay involves holding the Leaves under 3.5 goals

Ah well nevertheless

Gustafsson got the puck twice in the first 30 seconds of the PP

First time was when Kasper, who was being pressured, moved it back to Gustafsson. Erik then immediately sent the puck back to Kasper, and it was intercepted.

They get it back in the zone, he gets it along the boards, stands there, gets checked by Marner, who clears it.

The Wings are down 5-1 but the worst part of this game is the Tullamore Dew ad that plays on every commercial break

Edvinsson scores, don’t call it a comeback (because they’re not scoring three more in eight minutes)

Power ranking the Wings’ D this season:

09. Lagesson: AHL body, hard no
08. Gustafsson: What if offensive defenseman had no offense?
07. Petry: The dumbest decisions, night after night
06. Holl: He’s not good but I didn’t expect him to be?
05. Chiarot: On the plus side, he hits and clears out the front of the net. On the negative, decisions and penalties.
04. Maatta: He’s gone now and that’s a shame
03. Johansson: I don’t know if he’s an NHL defenseman long term but he makes safe plays so that puts him all the way up here.
02. Edvinsson: Still learning, makes some mistakes, but looks fantastic for long stretches
01. Seider: I wonder if he regrets signing that contract

Forwards:

14. Watson: Fuck that guy
13. Motte: Defensive forward who is inconsistent in coverage
12. Tarasenko: Super frustrating, especially on the PP or with Larkin and Raymond
11. Kane: He has five goals in 30 games, no physical engagement, terrible vibes
10. Copp: Two good stretches, some good defensive play, but basically invisible
09. Fischer: Better defensively than Motte, still negligible offensively
08. Compher: More points than Copp but had a longer stretch of everything dying on his stick
07. Veleno: Good effort most nights, struggles to get chances on net
06. Berggren: He’s engaged, creative, and totally snakebitten
05. DeBrincat: No one has whiffed on more easy goals, but at least he scores some of the time
04. Rasmussen: I honestly forgot about him, he’s been about the same as other years, which is better than the drop off elsewhere.
03. Kasper: Great forechecking, defensive coverage, just can’t finish
02. Larkin: Effort is there but hasn’t scored in ages, seems frustrated (understandable!)
01. Raymond: He’s their best offensive player and needs to be less deferential
