Not a fan from the Canes’ perspective. Stankoven’s good but they draft a lot of smaller wingers.

The additions of Schenn and Tanev are underwhelming, particularly against the backdrop of Colorado and Dallas acquiring Brock Nelson and Mikko Rantanen. They are also expensive, costing the Jets two second-round picks and a fourth-round pick. Neither Schenn nor Tanev is an automatic roster player on the top-seeded Jets.

Curious if there’s any retention on Mrazek. He has another year at 4.25 and has been terrible this year. I don’t get it.

Veleno had flashes from time to time but it hit me recently that he was a non-presence on a line with Tarasenko and Soderblom. Like Tarasenko was noticeably bad and Soderblom was noticeably good, but Veleno was just a void.

Seemed like a nice guy, wish him well.

To Colorado: Charlie Coyle and a fifth-round pick in 2026.

But Mrázek crashed down to Earth this season. He’s been the worst goalie in the league since Dec. 1, with an .866 save percentage and a minus-14.95 goals saved above expected, per Evolving Hockey.
