Pierre-Luc Dubois has 53 points

Jakob Chychrun has 39 points with 17 goals. His +/- last year was -30. This year it’s +20.

It pains me to admit the Caps hit home runs on those deals.

Caps annoying, basically every single thing they did in the offseason has worked out as well as it possibly could have. Carbery seems like a great coach, Thompson also working out amazingly.

It's doubly frustrating because last year they were total frauds

Chychrun was awful on Ottawa, as much as it sucks to see him scoring like he was advertised to now... Nick Jensen has helped solidify the Ottawa blueline and has been really good in his role. Definitely not the greatest move from a value/asset managment standpoint but the makeup of the blueline improved. Chabot's having a great year playing with him, I'll take it?

Would definitely be wary of signing Chychrun to a long/expensive deal if I was Washington.

There's not an absence of evidence they will regress at some point, team 13% shooting percentage for ex (https://www.statmuse.com/nhl/ask?q=high ... am+2024-25) but they're definitely not awful like last year. I don't think they're gonna be perennially the best team in the conference or anything.

Michael Bunting, 2026 4th for Luke Schenn, Tommy Novak

I don’t get this at all, unless Schenn is getting flipped.

Also the Sabres re-upped Jordan Greenway for two years at four per, confirming that they are the Buffalo Sabres. That’s a Blackhawks-level overpay.

Wonder if the devils drop into the WC mix. They're only 4 pts up on the pack, everyone else has games in hand on them.

I could see it happening, depends on how well Markstrom’s playing. I know they were planning on being active at the deadline and now they have the cap space from J’accuse going on LTIR, but what’s their ceiling without him? Like if they get a 2/3 C, they fill one hole, but not the bigger one.

I doubt they want to punt on this season but he’s their most important player.

In a game/situation like this you'd expect them to be getting a ton of chances, be all over the Hawks but it's the other way around. Need a point from this game, looking iffy even on that front

Perron has been Ottawa's best forward tonight

There has been about 15 infuriatingly soft/horrible plays trying to clear their zone this period. Nervy maybe knowing they need to hold on here?

So there's potential goaltending interference AND puck in off a skate.

BUT IT COUNTS

I missed his involvement! It was a total tire fire, assume was he the the guy who should have covered Smith? There was so many bad decisions by like 3, 4 guys on that play.
