Colorado Avalanche get: D Ryan Lindgren, F Jimmy Vesey, D prospect Hank Kempf

New York Rangers get: F Juuso Parssinen, D Calvin de Haan, 2025 second-round draft pick, 2025 fourth-round draft pick

Rangers retain 50 percent of Lindgren’s salary.
These are different guys, alright. A good deal for the Rags I guess since Lindgren hasn't been good this year.

Wild reacquire Gus for a second.

Jeez BG maybe you should have just resigned him instead of wasting money on that jabroni trenin

A second is a higher return than I expected, given that he hasn't been great this year

Nutsy didn't impress me against the Wings. Feel like the Wild have a half-dozen interchangeable defense-first forwards, Trenin included.

I feel badly for David Perron with the family stuff and injury issues, couldn't get his season started. But he is totally washed at this point.

Wait. Florida gave up Knight AND a first round pick for Jones???

There's no way anyone was offering anything even close to that.

Seth Jones at 7 million and 2.5 million in dead cap for 5 years seems like a bad deal for both teams

Blackhawks retained 2.5 per year, so his cap hit is 7

I would be in on that for the Wings at like 1st + Buium / Wallinder but Chicago wanted a young active NHLer like Knight and I don’t think there’s a piece like that in Detroit.

I wouldn't be interested in paying the full freight for him but relatedly I was looking at the Leafs puckpedia the other day to look at their cap situation and salary they could potentially move out to make a deadline deal and realized Max Domi and David Kampf have partial no-trade clauses. Jani Hakanpaa also has one despite being on a 1 year deal and so injured the Stars thought he might never play again.

I don't think totally washed is fair - I think if he can play games without huge breaks he'll be able to contribute more consistently, nice goal last night - but the cap hit is rough for what he'll be able to bring.

Anyway, SNES played ok. That third sharks goal should be ignored - they basically got a free goal after Toffoli cross-checked Sanderson in the back of the next and he was crumpled in the corner in pain while they scored. It was already 6-on-4 so that made it 6-on-3. Unfathomable no call.

The difference having Tkachuk/Pinto/Norris in the game is fairly obvious. Scoring depth is a major issue and not sure how they can fix it - will require some creative and good moves cause there's very, very little in the system.

I'm just assuming that "unfathomable no call" is the uncalled high stick on Simon Edvinsson that led directly to Columbus's game winning goal with two minutes left last night

Yeah, also awful. The SNES one was worse from a danger/violence point of view but the Wangs one was worse from a deciding the game standpoint.
