BG wanted to trade Rossi. This guy may not be good at evaluating talent.

Wallstedt has an .860% in the AHL this season, what's going on there?

Cossa rocking a .925

Avalanche get: Goalie Mackenzie Blackwood, forward Givani Smith, 5th-round pick in 2027.

Sharks get: Goalie Alexandar Georgiev, forward Nikolai Kovalenko, 2nd-round pick in 2026, 5th-round pick in 2025.
Surprised the Avs included Kovalenko, legacy Av

Also always surprised to see that Givani Smith is still in the league

Has Blackwood been so good that a contending team would want him to be a starter/1A situation? I get Georgiev hasn’t been great but surely there were other solutions?

Blackwood’s been good on a bad team, mostly I think it’s that he’s cheaper and on an expiring deal. They gave up a 2nd but I’m sure they would’ve had to do more for Gibson.

Can’t sleep but man I don’t know but Iowa has been really bad so I imagine that isn’t helping. All the defenseman that they drafted that were supposed to give them a pretty good prospect pool have not worked out.

They called up JW to work with the pros and staff. I’m still hopeful but he needs work and I kinda wonder if bringing MAF may have had an unintentional effect on him? Probably thought he was going to be in an nhl tandem this season and isn’t.

The Athletic Prospect Series podcast (i.e. their regular podcast on Friday) recently commented about how being in the AHL too long can give goalies bad habits, and I suspect that's what's going on with JW. I 100% think he expected to be in the NHL this year and it must have been deflating to be sent down.

New terrifying experience - I was playing beer league last night and the power went out mid-game while we were on the ice. Took a couple minutes for the emergency lighting to kick in. Very disorienting!

I'm trying to remember if that happened to me. The related experiences I had were 1. "The cooling system isn't working so you're going to be playing on melting ice, good luck making a pass" and 2. "The air conditioning is out and I'm skating through clouds of fog."

i once had the lights go out on me when playing in the pepsi tournament in buffalo

was definitely bewildering but i don't remember it being completely pitch black, must have been some emergency lighting or something

Zegras out six weeks with a knee injury (torn meniscus). Ten points in 24 games this year. Nobody on the Ducks is really lighting it up but Zegras has been a mess of injuries and decreasing production since his sophomore year.

Wild are going to come back down to earth hard with this run of injuries. It was fun while it lasted!

They aren't close to be good but being 4 points out of a playoff spot at this point of the season is... progress? Almost? Obviously the bar is very high here.

I've seen some rumblings that they're shopping Norris. I suppose there's some logic to that? What could get even get back?

Pinto (1G, 2A) isn't exactly ready to step in and replace him as a top 6 center
