Neuart just so you know the budgets and rosters tend to lock around an hour before draft.
Yeah I saw that warning. I'm going to Neu! 15's soccer game shortly but should be able to check again before they lock.

This is what I have, too

On top of bedtime duties until 8pm EST, I also have a pretty bad cold so unsure if I'll be making it to the draft at all.

Craig, did you want Laine off your keepers for the draft? How much is his salary?
Yeah, I'll take the cap on the front end I guess but use it sparingly. He's signed for $15.
OK, he's off your roster and you have $60 to spend instead of $45
He was drafted in there, sorry for making things complicated.

I expected that to happen, he'll get dropped and then you can add him to an IR slot before you do another transaction

Can I get a clarification on rfas signed to offersheets and releasing. From the rules:

"If the player's contract is $4 or more, and he was purchased in the UFA auction, he must be bought out. Buyouts cost half of the player's salary (rounded down if an odd number) and will count toward your cap for the duration of his contract. The player subsequently becomes a UFA.

If you have a player who you drafted that received a raise through the RFA process, and you want to get rid of him, he can be released at no cost."

What about an RFA that I did not draft nor signed at the UFA auction, but signed to an offersheet?

I believe in the past we’ve said this only applies if you owned the player, someone else signed the offset sheet and you matched. I asked for clarification on this re: Kaapo Kakko last season and ultimately I had to trade him.

This also seems like kind of a bad rule in general. If you match the offer sheet, why wouldn’t you be on the hook to pay?

Agreed! I don't understand the exception for offersheets, we should turf that.

Another question, while signed prospects in the minors salary do not count against the cap, do their contract years also not count for the purposes of signing other prospects while they're in the minors?

RFAs signed to offersheets are in limbo between UFA signings and RFAs that you yourself drafted as the rule specifies. Sounds like this was litigated on a previous iteration of the forum.

On a completely unrelated note to those two inquiries:

I'm looking to potentially move Zegras on a 14x3, Cozens on a 14x2, and maybe Jack Quinn on his 3x3 as he approaches 120 games. Looking for picks and/or players on 1 year signings. Willing to move with picks if necessary. Let me know if there's any interest.

Using the power of positive mental thinking to generate a trade for Timothy Liljegren to a team that actually plays him
