Any point eliminates the Wings (officially), it would be especially sad if the Leaves go to OT scoreless

So SNES/Leafs is basically a lock. Just pre-emptively talking myself down from the urge to self-harm after the Leafs win:

- It's not really a continuation of the early 2000's stuff - totally different teams
- SNES are the underdogs now. Leaves SHOULD win.
- First playoff experience will be good

help me out here

It feels like the SNES are playing with house money. If they beat the Leaves—totally conceivable!—Toronto might finally have to make core changes (i.e. bye Marner and Tavares). If they lose, they got some playoff experience for Brady and the boys and they’ll want more next year.

I’d be way more worried in practice’s position. Ullmark could totally goalie them.

yes I would have preferred Tampa to the potential misery of this matchup. my sister's kids will never let me hear the end of it if the Leafs lose, and so they shouldn't

No games this year, six games last year. Still has two years left at 8 AAV. Can’t imagine the Sharks are close to the cap. Vlasic has one year left

I would love for the new king to score a few more goals in a regulation loss in game 82

I still can't get it out my head hearing Craig Simpson two weekends ago suggesting that W. Nylander might as well try to get 50 goals on the year, he talked at length about how it made sense to try for it, why not, you never know etc. he's one of the worst speakers/ wordsmiths ever in my opinion, in that I feel like he actually provides obfuscating descriptions of things, in addition to butchering the language and metaphors and everything, or just the incomprehension that leads to him explaining why it makes sense for the popstar looking puck hog who hangs out around the opposition blue line to try to keep scoring as many goals as possible. for example, when a grinder scores a goal he will often say about it, this is why the grinder is in the lineup, to do those little things that change momentum just a little bit, when in fact, the grinder has actually done a big thing that changed more than momentum. he will supply a hallucinated analysis based on something that might have but didn't happen, say, that grinder making a big hit that led to a penalty/PP that led to a goal. anyway, RIP Greg Millen.
