Last Wednesday morning at 2am or 4am or whatever, I stubbed the hell out of my left pinky toy on the way back from an Old Man Trip to the Bathroom. I could tell pretty soon that I did some damage because it didn't stop hurting and the next morning I went to urgent care because I couldn't put on slippers without it really hurting. Turns out I'd broken the longest bone of that toe on a diagonal. No running for a month

Here's the kicker: I did this EXACT FUCKING THING five years ago when we were moving out here. I drove from MA to MI three times, and the third time was in FA's car and actually had a couple of stops. The first night I stayed in a hotel outside Philly and broke a toe on my right foot on the wheel of the travel suitcase when I was coming back from the bathroom in the middle of the night. I even thought about this when I put the suitcase where it was.

It's gradually getting less painful, at least, although this morning I thought "Nah I don't need Ibuprofen today" and like 30 minutes later I thought "Nope, I still need it."
