I hang my head in shame

JERTS should probably figure out their 5on5 play, they can’t rely on a 44% PP forever

To be fair, they're playing the Wings tonight so that PP% will rise.

Seven years after the Maple Leafs selected Liljegren 17th in the 2017 NHL Draft, they dealt him to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday for a 2025 third-round pick, 2026 sixth-round pick and defenseman Matt Benning, the team announced.
For the sake of Whale Emoji Fart Emoji I wish he hadn't gone to the worst team in the league.

Yeah well I’d like a cup and playoff success like your team has had in the past

Sabres fans remain the most infuriating to encounter on the internet. I made the mistake of commenting on the latest 16 stats article, which talks about how Tage has been great and the Sabres' second line (Cozens / Quinn) has been brutal, on how Quinn was totally invisible in the Wings' two games against the Sabres, but got his only goal on an empty netter because the puck rang off the post straight to him. My conclusion, and it's been this way for the last two seasons, is that the Sabres should use some of their leftover cap space (seven million!) on a Compher-type because their younger forwards could use easier deployment. I made the mistake of saying "Maybe they thought McLeod would be that" and I got a response from a Sabres fan who compared the two players' points and +/- on the season and called me a clown multiple times.

You could have both! You want your team to make the playoffs! Do everything you can for that! Outside of a really solid 1B goaltender, a two-way veteran center is their most obvious need.

Can't wait for when that team goes on a little run and all of the Sabres fans do their yearly bit of "YOU ALL DOUBTED US AND YOU LOOK LIKE IDIOTS NOW" until they fall back again and miss the playoffs for the 15th consecutive year or whatever.

Too bad we can't search commenters' post history on the Athletic, would be fun to see Tyler H's ups and downs
