So per the Strang article on The Athletic, it sounds like Marek got canned because he was relaying picks to a friend before they were announced and Vegas gambling interests got mad about it.

wowy wow wow.

feel like this was targeted at Bowman knowing full well he will screw this up no matter what he does. 2year deals, 2nd and 3rd round comp picks :spezza: pretty clever.

They have to let Broberg go, keep Holloway, right?

Is Broberg a top-4 D on a Cup contender? If he is, I suppose that makes sense. If he's a bottom pair, $4.6M is hefty.

That's my guess

What's the solution to freeing up cap space? Kane resides on LTIR? They deal Kulak or Ceci?

He was by the last couple of rounds of the playoffs, but he hasn't done it for a regular season yet. Who knows.

In terms of which one is more replaceable, it's Holloway, since the Oilers don't have another defensive prospect anywhere near Broberg's level or readiness.

Ceci traded I assume means we're matching Broberg. I think if Kane is LTIR'd and we send Perry or someone down, we can match both and be compliant.

I was actually leaning towards letting both walk at this point.

It's a lot of money for Broberg, but

I think they have to keep him.

Not surprised by Holloway, I am surprised by Brobert. I saw their defensive depth chart on The Athletic and uh Troy Stecher is on the second pair? Not great, Stan.

He seemed like a great dude and he could eat a surprising amount of minutes on a very bad Wings team, but ideally he's a 6/7 on a good team and maybe a healthy scratch on a Cup contender.
